Talking with fish and birds
In the Amazon rain forest live the last remaining Záparo Indians - once one of the largest populations of this region, today they are in danger of extermination.

This film tells the story of the family of the last shaman of the Ecuadorian Záparos - Manari (Cayman) Ushigua, who died two years ago. His wisdom is largely responsible for the Záparos' being able to preserve their culture: he protected them from encroachments by Catholic missionaries and Protestant sects.

Today, they continue to live existentially bound to the spiritual world of the jungle spirits in harmony with nature - hunting, fishing, harvesting yucca and brewing chicha.
